Good Multiplayer games
Some friends and I are having a LAN party next week and I was wondering what are some fun games to play onlne/over LAN. Any ideas? Co-op play and vehicle-based combat are what we're most interested in but anything will do, thanks

C&C:Renegade...period.

It has a unique vibe and tempo that I have yet to find a match for.

Get GSA and we'll meet up in one of the empty servers sometime.

download the Splinter Cell: Choas Theory multiplayer beta from Fileplanet. Thats should be fun, especially for LAN.

Or just get Pandora Tommorow mutliplayer, either the full version of the demo.

Jedi Academy or Jedi Outcast for LAN.
But do not play Jedi Knight 2 online, people cheat horribly.

If it's small, System Shock 2.

There's also

Jane's WWII Fighters

Tribes 2/Vengeance

Homeworld if you're into strategy

A lot of the stuff I was gonna say has already been taken, but definately try Americas Army. :)

UT 2004.

I have yet to seen anything beat it in terms of sheer funness and replayability

Somewhat, there's a SW mod in the works.  There's a half-finished RedAlert mod, but it moved to Source and left us hanging.  The leader, Aircraftkiller, is a bit of a creep.

Most of the widely played mods involve activating game modes that were included, but not activated by Westwood before the patch cycle ended.  If you intend to play online, you'll need to get the RenGuard anti-cheat program.  Cheating used to be rampant, but they're rare again thanks to RenGuard.

Q3A!! It's so old, it's cheap, so cheap you can obtain several discs legally for minimal cost! And it's about as fun as other FPSs, just without the kickass graphics.

Seriously, I never noticed Halo 2's brilliant map scenery while playing LAN, too busy capturing the flag :)
