Considering it is a mutation of the virus that is getting to humans in the first place, which would require a different vaccine, and also considering that, if the carriers are clean, the disease doesn't exist to mutate.
Let's say we kill the birds, great, no more bird flu, so, what do we
now do about the massive outbreak of Malaria, Hep B and other Insect transmitted disease that were kept in check by the birds eating them? Should we kill all the Insects as well? But then, without birds & insects, plants don't get pollinated and the forest start to die back, thus forcing other predators out into the open for their food. So we'd have to kill those as well...
I'm sure you can see where this is going
