Meh...If I use any higher-poly ships than it's capships.. You don't get so close to fighters anyway (unless you plan to play the whole game from external view with a wierd camera angle just so you can drool at your fighter).

and I don't even download capships if they have an absurdely lage ammount of polys but actually no real improvement (like quad devdiding an Orion)
