I have tried to set up a FTP server on my PC. I downloaded software that is compatible with Win98, and have run it. Now this isn't the problem. I set up my "FTP" and ran it, and it works fine from one PC in my network to mine, but any PC outside of my network cannot access the server.
I know the reason too, it's my cable router. It seems to think it's a firewall. (damn Linksys) Well, It masks the IP from my cable modem, and tells everything in the network the IP is 192.168.1.100. This number is *fake*. I have the real IP, which I will not post here. But when the real Ip is enterred, I get nothing, and hen the fake IP is entered, I get a timeout, or a access denied, as told to me by 2 different people in 2 different parts of the country (like that has anything to do with it)
Can anyone help me?
