Like thousands! I don´t know about other countries, but airgun hunting is very common around here. Everybody has one or more, and the old woods around my house were always littered with hunters. I used both the airgun(with sniper telescopic sight ) and spring traps. I would lay my traps all over, then i would start making my rounds checking each one for kills. And between traps i would use the rifle. I had days where i brought over 20 birds home, after a couple hours of hunt. They are just excellent with garlick and some red wine. The only problem was i had to clean them before taking them home. And the more you catch, the more you have to clean, so i spent lots of hours just picking the feathers out.
All this has changed nowadays. The woods where i used to hunt when i was a boy are now gone, there are roads and factories where it stood. And you now need to have a license to hunt...
Kids these days have it easy, they get to play with paintball and Airsoft rifles like that. When i was a kid, all we had was a plank of wood with a rubber band in one end, and a peg in the other, to make slings that fired small pebbles. Now look at them! M-16s, Uzis, M-4s, with laser and telescopic sights! You kids of today are so spoiled!!
