HELP! MSN IS MESSED UP!
My MSN Messenger is claiming that

Signing in to .NET Messenger Service failed because account permissions could not be verified. 0x81000359

Firstly: What does this mean?

Secondly: HOW DO I FIX IT???

*Sighs* Any help would be very, very, very, very, very... well, helpful. :p

  • I will never leave.
It could mean your account was suspended, or maybe the login server is down, or can't be reached.  You can fix it by waiting, or e-mailing tech support.
Bunny stole my signature :(.

Sorry boobies.

Oh, yeah, I'm the only one having this problem - everybody else can log in fine. I'm messing around with settings hoping to fix it at the moment...

Have you actually used the email account that your messenger tag is connected too? If not it may have gone inactive and you need to reactivate it.

Yes, I have. My main email account (An *@msn.com one) is the one I use for MSN Messenger, so it's not gone inactive. It's only messenger that doesn't work - I can still use explorer just fine, and emails and such (Well, as 'fine' as MSN ever is ;))

[edit] oh yes, and I've tried waiting it out (Didn't work), and also changed password, AND reinstalled it. To no avail. Hell, lol, I even reinstalled another version :p

Oh, and I just found out - the download manager on MSN explorer isn't working either... It crashes it.

This is weird...

MSN explorer?

Hahahaha.

Erm anyway.

Get yourself a @gmail.com address, reinstall MSN, patch it so the AD's are nuked and use it only as means of communication with your friends.

Could it be that your firewall is blocking a certain port MSN needs?
I really don´t know anything about Messenger, i disabled that evil thing on my PC.
No Freespace 3 ?!? Oh, bugger...

If it makes you feel any better, Trillian has just started crashing on launch for me.

Coincidentally, Trillian just made me DL an update for MSN. So that may have something to do with this.

Hey  Guys i got  some  MSN trouble too  while setting  up and building a computer for my mom ,..  i accidentally reset my password which  was sent to my old  dial-up account  which i dont  use anymore and i cant  sign up for dialup  again , cuz they say  that username is allready taken,
I know this sounds pretty stupid  , but any  ideas  on how to  help and retrieve a password from  a dead account?
