Whats the latest version of Fred 2? the one i have phreaks last release, but it keeps crashing whenever i try and put a sun in, on the background editor, and where do you put the -HTL line to get fred running abit smoother for the hi-poly ships i.e the Orion?

if there is any consistancy with the Shivans, it's their lack of consistancy - -Norbert-

Create a shortcut to FRED. Right click on it and choose properties. In the target box add -fredhtl (you might as well add -jpgtga while you're at it if you use jpg or tga textures).

You can even use -glow and -spec, although the later is less apparent.  Be aware, that under -fredhtl, FRED may give you some wierd error messages about normals being capped to 0.  It'll also render ships out of position, depending on where on the screen they happen to be.  Some ships may refuse to display dockpoints and paths.
