Both the Kerry and Bush were handicapped by their frontman. Neither side really gained votes because of anything the front man did. Kerry has next to no charisma and Bush is an idiot.

Both sides gained votes because of the stuff their campaign did to make their candidate look good. Everytime the candidate opened his mouth he merely convinced more of the undecided not to vote for him.

I couldn't really give a **** about relative intelligence.... all I was hoping for was change, so the President wouldn't have a popular mandate to continue ****ing up the world*.

Don't be so humble. It's not just an opinion Aldo, it's fact.

Kerry wasn't really that smart.
I don't think any statement containing the phrase "****ing up the world" can be indisputable fact.

I need to see evidence before I can agree with you. :)

Because he's a Republican 'Nam hero.  People like 'Nam heroes so long as they're not Republican.  When John Kerry shows up on the scene and shows up on the scene and announces that he's against Bush, people vote for him, and then he says something along the lines of "Oh yeah, and I won three Purple Hearts in 'Nam".

The 'Nam hero part makes little difference in the long run; Kerry only got a lot of attention from either side simply because he was against Bush; the whole Democrat 2004 election was primarily an "anybody-but-Bush" race, and I'm sure a lot of Dems would have preferred Dean or someone else running instead of Kerry/Edwards.

I know I do. He's the only viable candidate who remotely resembles a liberal.

Probably still true though, in the sense is does make you dumber as to how your decisions effect the people under your command :p
