im using scp
and for some reason i can only use pilots once
i create a new pilot
 play for a while (everythings fine)
then exit
then i restart and select a campaing and fs loads( all the bars and dots)
 then crashes to a black screen and  a do you wamt to send to microsoft msg
if i create a new piolt i and can start again if i want
any ideas?

this was happebning to me too at one point a month ago, cant remember how i fixed it...but the best idea and fastest way to have this fixed is to visit mantis...they fix my problems within about 10 minutes which is great...i love that place

Which build are you using? Which media.vp files? Are you using retail or the downloaded HotU version?

um i think i got lates vp files( they got an april 2005 date)

other 7 -=3rd april

Does it give you any messages about converting the pilot (i.e from FS2 format to FS2_Open format?).

What happens if you go into \data\players\single and clear everything out before starting?

Are you running any mods using the -mod switch? If so is there anything in moddir\data\players?

i ended up reinstalling to a different drive and eveything seems fine now
