Do .VP files turn on by themselves?
I'm just wondering because I'm going to use the mv_adveffects. I know I have to extract them to the FreeSpace2 root folder then use FSOpen. But do the .vp files work by themselves when I use FSOpen? Or do I need to enable them somehow?

Thanks in advance.

Do .VP files turn on by themselves?
Just having 'em in the root folder is all you need.

And uninstalling them is just a matter of removing from the root folder right?

that would be correct. (Or you could do what i do and just change the extension to something else like a .zip, even though they dont work with WinZip.. :D)

this applies to any files you have in the root folder by the way, so if you've got a mod or something you want to uninstall, just take the .tbl files for it out of the root directory.

it makes modding easier
