I was messing about trying to get the hang of turrets, when I stumbled across a bit of a problem which I am hoping someone can throw some light on.
I have built a simple 'box' model, textured it, POF'ed it and set it up with basic multi-turret code. It worked fine, and with a bit of tweaking the turret worked fine too. I tested it in a simple 1-1 mission and it took out the opposing fighter nicely. All seemed good. Collision detecton, shields etc. all functioned as they should.
Until the fighter got the better of me and blew up the USS Box. Instant crash to desktop.
I swapped sides, so I could blow up the 'box' and sure enough, it CTD's when the ship is destroyed
Something happens when the ship is destroyed which I have messed up! I have added some debris chunks, but the problem persists.
Can anyone give me a clue as to what happens when the ship goes boom...... and if anyone has found a similar problem and cured it!!!
