Two-handed sword

A two-handed sword, used as a general term, is any large sword that requires two hands to use.

For lack of a better word, the designation "two-handed sword" is also used when speaking about a weapon from the European renaissance. This kind of sword was often of the same length as the person wielding it, and had a very long hilt to allow leverage when cutting with it. Contrary to popular belief, two-handers made for combat use are actually quite light, averaging around 2.5 to 3 kilograms. Even so, with the mass distributed over a length of close to two metres, effective use took a man of substantial strength.

The manner of fencing with a renaissance two-hander differs radically from the earlier types of two-handed swords (such as the long-sword and the bastard-sword). Because of the inertia of the sword and its length, use of the weapon as a spear becomes feasible, whereas swings are rendered slower for the very same reason: Increased inertia because of length. Indeed, some scholars have theorized that the weapon was primarily used to attack pike formations, even though such weapons have been depiced being used in juridical duels.

cool resourceses....good finds
So as through a glass, and darkly
The age long strife I see
Where I fought in many guises,
Many names, but always me.

There are only 10 types of people in the world , those that understand binary and those that don't.

It wouldn't load, but from the comments it sounds like a minigun shooting something up. Which I've seen before, and is fairly spectacular...  My comment was actually about that rifle, and mainly the handgun. It's daft - yes it'll rip you in half, but you've got awful recoil, probably not very high accuracy, and a tiny magazine.

You mean the Rt-20 or the Automag? or both?

Well, the RT-20 uses 110mm shells and practicly a slow armour sniper..something like a bazzoka turned into a gun.. but yes, once it shoots, you better not stand behind it or you'll get burned and thrown away.

As for the Automag I read that it actually has a surprisingly low recoil for a gun of it's size. It unleashes 2100J of energy upon impact (Desert Eagle -1200J), so there is no question about it's destructive power. No kelvar vest will help here!

Both. IMO they're over-powerful, and hugely impractical. Fair enough, the rifle is designed as a long-range anti-armour weapon, so it has a specific mission profile in mind. Although the racket it makes and the big flash from the muzzle and compensator would broadcast your position, so you'd have to leg it after taking a shot. The Automag however is daft. I mean, a 5-round magazine is tiny. I don't think the stopping power is worth the trade-off for having to reload every few seconds in a firefight.

I'm not a fan of guns anyway, to be honest. There's no honour in blowing someone away from a distance, and it cheapens life.
