Does anyone have a clue as to why POF models do a 180-degree flip when docking?

I've a POF that's driving me up the wall. Out of laziness I used the Olde Gas Platform model, and added some subsystems -- engines so it can move about and warp in/out -- and docking points/paths. Here's where the fun part comes in, see. Everything's fine, up to the point of docking. Whenever a ship docks with the girl darned platform, it does an instant 180-degree flip. Doesn't matter if it's the topside dock point, or the side dock point. The POF flips exactly 180 degrees around the dock point axis.

I've checked the POF with Aurora, PCS, POF Viewer, checked the MOI, the mass, the axis, the paths, anything I can think of, but it still exhibits said strange behaviour. What could be the prob? Is this a usual thang?

I simply don't get it.

I'm losing my marbles here.

I'm partaking in strong drink on a daily basis now.

I'm losing it.

There's like a 99% probability that he had the dockpoint normals backwards.  That's actually just about all I can think of that would cause it, and it wouldn't be too hard to get that backwards in setting them up by hand.

It's not much of an excuse for a website, but my stuff can be found here

That's what I suspected was the problem but I always think it best to get the answer when someone solves their own problem :)

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill
