Deep Space Nine Oddness
So I was looking through IMDB, reading some of the DS9 quotes and came across this one:

[trying to negotiate with a group of Ferengi]
Yelgrun: And I thought the Breen were annoying.

And this opened up a whole can of worms.

I decided to see where that was from and clicked 'Yelgrun' - which took me to Iggy Pop's IMDB page. Iggy Pop was in DS9. Think about it.

Iggy Pop was a character in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine!

Not only that, the quote is from The Magnificent Ferengi (6x10) - which is the episode in which Quark and co rescue Ishka/Moogie from the Dominion.

This, in turn and given the context of the quote, makes Yelgrun a Jem Hadar or a Vorta (I later confirmed him as a Vorta). Which means the Dominion had enough dealings with the Breen for a Vorta to acquire some stereotypical views of them. And this is back in early Season 6. But the Breen didn't join the Dominion till The Changing Face of Evil (7x20).

So not only is there the oddness of Iggy Pop being there, there's also the seemingly innocuous line which foreshadowed the events towards the end of the Dominion War.

I just thought it was worth noting.

Finding out Iggy Pop was in star trek was a shock I have to admit, I always thought that he would be too cool for such things (My first post woo hoo!)

Remember, many alpha quadrant races sent trading vessels through the wormhole - it's possible the Breen went off on a little safari.

Re: Deep Space Nine Oddness
Yeah there's quite a bit of foreshadowing in DS9...

I was watching an episode that was a season 1 or season 2..maybe 3 at most but definately an early episode and the Dominion was mentioned.  Sort of off hand really...but the reference was there.  I remember the Breen reference...I wasn't surprised when they showed up on the side of the Dominion.

Re: Deep Space Nine Oddness
There were a few mentions of the Dominion by various Gamma Quadrant peeps in the earlier seasons. Think the first may have been when Quark tried to deal with those one aliens with the berry juice or whatever.

Yep.

That's why the Federation went looking for them.

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill
