It's all fun and games till a private sector conglomerate launches high-velocity kinnetic warheads at a planet-side competitor's quasi-military research installation.....

do not torment the sleep deprived artist, he may be vicious when cornered,
in case of emergency, administer caffeine to the artist,
he will become docile after that,
and less likely to stab you in the eye with a mechanical pencil

Why is this not getting more love? This is really cool. First, a new plasma drive is tested, and now a commercial effing spaceport? WIN.

Oh come on, who cares? You won't complain when they fly you to the moon in 2015 or whenever the **** they'd have the tech to do it.

Ghost, haven't you heard? Consistent cynicism is a sign of vast worldliness and superior intelligence.

Re: First commercial spaceport to be built in New Mexico
I'm not being cynical...well, alright, I am, but with good reason. I don't like the idea of private interests controlling spaceflight just yet. In fact, if you want to get right down to it, I don't like the very idea of widespread spaceflight right now or in the near future. Just a decade ago, people were still oblivious to the Internet, and now we're already planning to send Averge Joe up to space.

Yes, I know; I'm a bitter old man trapped in a young man's body.
