Threw me off that it progresses from the bottom-up. :p

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

Re: Chat with BSG's Gaius and Apollo
What I want to know is, how come both are English actors but it's the heroic fighter pilot who has an American accent and the nutcase traitor who has the clipped upper crust tones?

Re: Chat with BSG's Gaius and Apollo
It's easier to swallow? After all, the british are always the bad guys, and the Americans are saviors of freedom, etc.

Good acting though, I never noticed he was british. Like Calllis says, too modest.

Re: Chat with BSG's Gaius and Apollo
Woohoo - they posted my question!! :)

(order reversed for sanity)
[q]Sandwich If the current level of success continues, how many seasons would you be willing to continue with the show for?
JamieBamber As long as we are exploring new stuff, the writing is good and the cast stays together, I'd be happy.
JamesCallis The show is demanding, fresh and exciting - as long as it remains this way, it's a great thing to be involved with.[/q]

Re: Chat with BSG's Gaius and Apollo
Maybe Apollo is British because Olmos "Adama Flashlight" is also American, and he was the first actor hired for the show?

Or then it's a conspiracy.
lol wtf

You shoulda seen the questions I posted that didn't make the cut... I asked if, considering that there have been a few BSG eps made available to download for free from the official website, the Powers The Be are aware of the popularity BSG holds in the peer2peer sites. :p

I also asked if either of them saw Firefly or Serenity, considering that there was a cameo of Serenity in the miniseries. ;)

Re: Chat with BSG's Gaius and Apollo
I found about it from a friend about 2 minutes before it started, and I know everyone wanted to know about the networking crap with that firewall, so I asked that while simoultaneosly posting the info here for the people who are interested. While I was writing the subject line I typed in imdb who the characters were that the actors play (don't give much about their real names after all :p)

Naturally, then I saw that those two actors were on the recieving end so I wasn't holding my breath too much about the question being up. Upon further consideration, the question was pretty specific, and that episode JUST aired in Britain, would probably be spoiler for those who haven't seen it yet. However that is considering that they even had any answer - after all, they're just actors. That question is more for the script writer. These guys just act the stuff out after all, doubt they go much further into it than that.

After it started, didn't ask anything, just read, was amusing.

Hope they do it again sometime.

Two reasons.

Firstly, because Baltar is a genius and having a British accent gives him an air of sophistication. The accent better fits the character's position in society. Like how they have Scottish people playing the weathered but good-hearted old loners all the time.

Secondly, since the fall of Communism, the increase in China's economy and the Germans joining the EU - it's politically incorrect to have anyone except Americans, Arabs or Englishmen playing bad guys.
