Multiplayer and campaign progress.
So here's the situation: I've got a friend with whom I wish to play through the Freespace 2 campaign. We have everything set up with the source code project and whatnot, and have no trouble connecting to play with one another, but there seems to be one issue.

When starting the multiplayer game, there's an option to play through either part one or two of the campaign in co-op mode, but there doesn't seem to be any way to save our progress. That is, we began the campaign, beat a few missions, had a game crash, went back only to find that we had to start from the first mission again.

Is there something I'm just missing? Surely there's a mechanism by which campaign progress is saved, otherwise it would be pretty pointless to have it available in multiplayer.

help me I just want to blast aliens in space with my buddy :(

Re: Multiplayer and campaign progress.
Sadly multi has no way to save the mission progress so you're not doing anything wrong.

In my FAQ's Gameplay section you can find a list of the missions in their proper order so you can play the missions individually if you want.

What might be an idea is to chop the campaign file up into smaller sections in FRED.
Karajorma's Freespace FAQ. It's almost like asking me yourself.
