FPS drains on active asteroid fields
Hi all:

Athlon XP 3200+ with ATI x800 pro + 1GB RAM
Running Launcher 5.3 + 3.6.8 Media VPs and CVS Build from February but have had this problem for a long time (All CVS from December 2005).
Running OPENGL with VSYNC and MIPMAPPING (But deactivating does not help)

The problem is that I can add shed loads of asteroids on a passive asteroid field without noticing any FPS performance loss.
But if I use an active asteroid field I have massive FPS drains. I drop from 70-75 constant to 5-10 more or less whenever an asteroid appears.

Has anyone had this issue before?

Also I keep having a problem with asteroids i've wanted to ask about for quite some time. When I add them to any mission, they look brilliant, but they reshape all the time while I fly through the field......could I have missing maps or wrong models?
