Okay, I recently replaced my PC (Athlon 64, winXP, gig of RAM, 256mb vid card...) so I'm having to completely reinstall FS2...

Since it's now connected to the net, I was able to download the mv_models file...

Only when I try to run FS2_open (3.6.7), it appears that the .tbm files in mv_models are causing the game to hang (at least it close automatically)

Since I missed the development of these .tbms, would someone mind explaining these, please?

TBM (modular tables) are a feature that can be used add or alter contents of the main tables. See FS Wiki entry. 3.6.7 has some issues with those. So if you want to use 367 build remove 367 mediavps patch nro 3 (it uses these). Or alternatively get more recent builds (like early december or such) from here.
Do not meddle in the affairs of coders for they are soggy and hard to light

Thanks man.

Now that's FS is working again, I can more on to dealing with all the other bits (like getting PSP to read DDS, sorting out which map files are no longer needed (once I get mv_textures)...)

Since I've already started this thread...

Game now works, Though it *****ed about my alterd tbls (been doing that before, only worse now...)  So I start redoing them...

Then I notice that multipart turrets are not working!

This is quite a problem since most of my ships use MP's a lot...

I think he fixed something that I broke. It seems that every time I touch the turret code something bad happens, but nobody realizes it for weeks afterwards.  :nervous:

What's awesome about TBM's is that you can change the tables without actually adding stuff to the main tables. :D

I seem cursed as far as new cpu and FS2 is concerned...

Tried the latest CVS build (25/02/2006), and it yelped about a missing DLL file (OpenAL32.dll) and refused to run.

I say again, :wtf: :hopping:

So which build runs with tbms, doesn't have screwed MP turrets, and does not require said dll?  Or could someone send me said dll, please?

Well, on initial start it complaims about the tbms, then there was the thing about huds.  Managed to get to the in game ship hall, but as soon as I tried to lod a mission via techroom... CTD

This is with both my modded ships and weapons tables removed.  With weapons.tbl there is nothing different (older exe's complained about my beams, but I've yet to mod those), and with ships it yells about missing lines, when all I've done is use tblcleaner to remove the junk, then used TAB to space out the data (to make it easier to read), and reorganised the order of ships, plus add a couple of FS1 ones.
