Hello.  When i signed up to Mantis, i had tried inputting my name as "]C[rusader", and recieved an error similar to yours.  On a guess, i removed the brackets and simply used "Crusader"--it seemed to solve the problem.  Since there is a Mantis member named "Goober5000" who has no trouble logging in... perhaps the sign-in form cannot handle characters other than the English alphabet and English numerals?
