Deepblue requested that E3 screenshots go in a separate thread, so this it. Have at it.

FFXIII: http://www.siliconera.com/2006/05/08/final-fantasy-xiii-images/

I'm hoping these are truly in-engine like Square is claiming.

Have you seen how Final Fantasy XI (and it's 3 expansions) looks for the PC ?. That has to be ingame for sure

You should specificy from which FFXIII you're posting your screenshots...(well...it's hard to tell, but at least give an advise...)

Final Fantasy XIII:

Quote
Final Fantasy XIII will run on the "White Engine", a propietary engine built for Square Enix's next-gen games. The game was originally planned for the PlayStation 2 but was later moved to the PS3 after the development team discovered the power of the platform.

Two other games were announced alongside Final Fantasy XIII: Final Fantasy Agito XIII, a prequel for the mobile phone, and Final Fantasy Versus XIII, a sequel action game for the PlayStation 3 made by the Kingdom Hearts team. The three games make up the three part saga, Fabula Nova Crystallis: Final Fantasy XIII

Nice renders. I wonder what the game is going to look like.

I would say that is in-engine mocked up to be "in-game" as the HUD goes all the way to the edge of the image, a big no-no when TVs often cutoff a bit on the edge.

The face close-ups (Shadow's post) are undeniably CG. MGS4 has noticable polygons/intersections/low-res textures, and I think Kojima productions is a bit better at actual game graphics than Squenix.

Lost Planet (demo on XBL on Tuesday, these shots are from that demo which was accidentally up for a bit today):

Coming from Capcom in 2007. The motion blur kicks arse.

New Gears of War pic:

Boots are abit big...

For those 'Lost World' screenshots, is supposed to be set in the Starship Troopers universe? 'Cause somebody's gonna get sued...

Regarding the GoW pic... CROTCHPLATES!

I don't care if that FF13 screen is game engine or not, I think that is the most realistic face of a person I have seen yet.

Too perfect to be realistic. Crysis has nice realistic faces.

Here's the E3 video for FFXIII. Absolutely stunning. The setting reminds me a bit of FFVII.

Q: Who was in charge of the Art Deging in Final Fantasy VII ?

A: Tetsuya Nomura

Who is the Character Desinger in FFXIII ?, umm...it is in at least 2 screenshots...(Tetsuya Nomura)

More than remind, is resemble...the guy is the same person so it's normal to find similarities which are no coincidence...

Oh man, Gears of War is crazy bloody. I just watched the demo and CliffyB revs up a CHAINSAW ON THE BLOODY GUN and tears one of the bad dudes in half... Literally. Then  he blows another uglies hand off and it lands on the box next to the player. Ewwwwww....
