Big problem with 3.3a update
 :confused: Ok, now I have followed the offical install instructions twice (screwed it up the first time, deleated it and reinstalled it after deleating the folder and all files). I have tried to run it on each of the fs2 open builds with the update (both regular and debug) and each time I have gotten no where...at last count I had over 50 errors pop up in the debug window starting at line 1502 and ending somewhere around 4250 I think (half dead to the world when I got to that one!!!) gave up and went to bed... The next morning still the same thing with each build from  (12-22-2005 to current 3.6.7 offical release).
I have gone in and extracted the ships-adv.tbl file and renamed it and placed it in the tables folder. Then went in and changed all the "inital to initial" saved the file.. Tried even the fix that I found here in the forums, nothing has worked so far.... And being that I have played fs2_open and beat the game in under a week, I already have the open al files installed and all the latest drivers for my system installed.
Any help please....

System specs:
amd sempron 2200+ oced to 1.8ghz
80 gig hard drive
1gig system memory
geforce fx5200 oced to 300/450 open_gl 2.0 installed
windows xp sp2 with all updates
creative soundblaster live 24bit with all updates eax enabled

It's only the first error that's important really :) Post it and we'll try to help :) The line numbers can either be the place in the code or in the table and unless we know which one they're useless (And even then they aren't that helpful).

The actual error though can be very helpful.

First things first, when you did the inital-to-initial thing, which build did you play on?  I got a similar situation to this when I was playing under some late February builds.

Assuming you're playing under anything more recent than 2006/03/01, an example of what your turret01a subsystem should look like on the Freighter 1 follows:

mine are the same as yours, even checked the spelling... Begginning to wonder if the main exe 3.6.7 that came wih the update was damaged in the download... wait a second... I just checked all  of the fs2_open exe's I have and none of them are newer than 2006-01-09.... I'm going to look for a newer updated build of the exe. that may be the freeking problem all along....will post the results after I find one....thanks...

Of the builds included with the 3.3a patch, 367 is the oldest.  It was released around the beginning of September of last year.  The other 2 were CVS builds from late December and early January, as the dates indicate.  The table example I posted was for builds from March 1st or newer.  I wouldn't advise useing builds newer than the 21st of May.  The reason for this was added into the Install thread under Problems and Solutions, at the bottom.

:yes: I finally found a build that will actualy run the game it's one of the betas, but hey it lets me play. One of the things I noticed right off the bat is the game play is more intense than fs2 ever thought of being.
I tried the surivor missions and was really impressed by the smooth graphics and the handling of a starfurry. Now if this build I am using will run fs2...I'll be almost in heaven...thanks for the help on my problem....now to download and have fun all evening long  :D  :yes:
