i have downloaded the RC5 3.6.9 with the media patches and i have the latest VPs everything runs ok except for the flak effects, the effect shows up but the when the flak is fired the bitmap Yellow_glow is surrounded by a black box, you only notice it when the its fire infront of another ship or nebula. I am runing the game in OpenGL, my graphics card is the ATI x800 6.5 drivers. Is it my card or the game, because everything else runs fine its only the flak effect i get it on.

Yeah, that's a known problem. You need the media VP patches linked in the RC5 thread.

[edit] actually on second thought, I'm getting it too. It looks like the flak effect is missing from the patches.
