I downloaded the 1.5 pack, upgraded to 1.8, then to 1.9.

But when trying to run the game i get this error :

And then an option to click "ok" to go to the debugger or cancel to exit. If i click ok i get ANOTHER error :

I suspect you're running the wrong file. Are you clicking on the FS2.exe or the Freespace2.exe instead of the launcher?

DOH yes.

Now my problem is in that the trinity mission, some voice lines sound really weird. Its always the same lines, and they sound as if some guy was trying to speak through water.......the voice sounds all bubbly like. Very strange.

Did you install OpenAL? Odd that you'd only get something going wrong there though. Do the other voices sound okay?

Yes i installed OpenAL. It seems to be the same lines throughoput the campaign.....fr instance in other missions a particular pilot when saying "Noooo!!" will produce the strange voice effect.

What kind of soundcard do you have?

I have consistently been able to re-produce this in the final missions by typing in www.freespace2.com to activate cheats.

The strange thing is that the first part where i encountered it, in the nebula, i didnt do this, it just happened by itself.
