In case you didn't know, Hamachi is a tool that lets people on different private networks (ie: LAN) to connect. It has been proven to work with many games, as long as they support local network connection. It's also cross platform, although the Linux & OSX versions are pretty barebone. Since FS2 has IPX capability, it might be possible to host/join games using Hamachi. I'm just too lazy to go on a forum and ask people to join my game.

FS2_Open should already be hamachi compatible. What's your problem with it? I vaguely remember there being a problem with it thinking the VPN was a dial up conncetion. Is that what you're getting?

Actually, I have no problem with it (yet) since I haven't found a channel for FS2_Open. 

Just want to let people know about it so I can try it out.

is it just FS2 Open thats compatible with hamachi, what about standard retail FS2.

wondering about this since the latest build 3.6.9 has the non regenerating shields bug... and i dont really want to tell my friends to get new files.
