I can tell only two things from your post; that you have strong feelings about a 21-year-old article about immigrants from Indochina, and you're a fan of Babylon 5. Beyond that, i'm hella confused.

No, it is just partially the coming to understand what JMS really meant. It was a political statement. But the fact how completely inept the US was in dealing with the aftermath is what really pisses me off. And they still are.

Western culture needs to bring this kind of marriage back.

But yeah.  Forcibly initiating a culture shift, especially one this drastic, is a recipe for tragedy.
