noobi question - Ships not showing in FRED Open
Noobi question here.  Sorry if this has been asked before.  I searched around and found nothing anywhere about it.

I'm trying to work with FRED Open in The Babylon Project here and the ship models will not show up in the editor.  All I get are little dots at the center (?) of the ship and a huge area around it that FRED says is the ship.  I decided to make a quick test mission placing the player next to B5 and an Explorer class.  I zoomed out a ways to place the station and Explorer, then started the mission.  My fighter was inside B5, and the Explorer was nearly colliding with her.

I have to believe there is a way get these ships to show up in FRED, because I see it nearly impossible to proporly allign anything as it is like this.  How do you place jump gates properly when you can't see them?

I had this same problem with FRED in the regular FSO, so it's not just something to do with TBP.  I am suspecting it may be something to do with the VPs.  I am new, but I get the jist that VPs are where things like models are held.  Seems like FRED is still going to look for the stock VPs, so maybe I have to do some cmd line changes to get fred to load the proper VPs?

Come on. He did say it was a noobi question and it's not like he asked how to fire beams or anything, be nice. :)

Doh!!. :nervous:

Sorry about that.  In the retail version, I don't remember ever doing that, and it never even occured to me to look for it.  I just assumed it was a glitch or something.

Again, sorry, and thanks for the quick help.  Hopefully, I won't have anymore problems like that again, lol.
