Anyone use this motherboard?
Anyone have this motherboard: Gigabyte 965P-DS3?  I think I've decided on this one rather than the Asus which is about $80 more.  I'm interested in any heads up and possible problems.  I already know about the finicky memory.  What type of memory are you using?

Nope, I have a rather strange GIE65-D. Apperently, it had no released drivers a while back, so my dad had to mail the company a while back and ask for them.

Not sure if your soliciting opinions but if it was me...I'd spend the extra $80 on the Asus.

One problem with asus's board i'm not too fond of is it's not core 2 ready without a bios update, you need to either buy a cheap compat cpu or have them send you a bios'ed chip for a price.

Re: Anyone use this motherboard?
The DS3 is a solid board from what I've heard. It hits excellent FSBs at a relatively low price, although it has some issues with high voltage memory. I'm waiting for the DFI RD600 board, but if I was buying today I would probably get a DS3 myself.

If you're talking about the P5B deluxe, the currently shipping ones all have the new BIOS, but I don't think it's worth paying that much more for it in any case. Its maximum FSB is typically higher, but not by much.

It apparently generates the stuff every time the page is loaded. I see slight differences in the posts if I refresh the page, like the "shiver me timbers" thing. :D

Pirate speak + computer discussions = interesting
"The reason for this is that the original Fortran got so convoluted and extensive (10's of millions of lines of code) that no-one can actually figure out how it works, there's a massive project going on to decode the original Fortran and write a more modern system, but until then, the UK communication network is actually relying heavily on 35 year old Fortran that nobody understands." - Flipside

Well I finally decided and ordered today.  I went with the Asus P5B Deluxe.  The P5B is suppose to be Core 2 supported right out of the box and has more features.  :)
