Shooting has no effect to enemies

When I shoot at enemies, it has no effect to them. Same when I shoot at friendly ships. What´s the problem  :confused:

We'll need a lot more information that that. What mod. Which mission. Does this affect other mods? What media VPs have you got etc. etc.

I got the 3.6.7 build, the 5.3 launcher and all downloadable mv_files (copied to a "mediavps"-folder as suggested). The problem came, after I put the mv_files to this folder. Bevore I had it in the FS 2 Main-folder and everything went o.k.

I have activated the mediavps in the mod-tab of the launcher.

The problem appears at each application I have installed: FS2 Open, FS1 Open, Silent Threat, Awakenings, Derelict SCP and Revenge: Final Conflict.

So it seems to be a superior problem with the mediavps-folder (like the app. searchs for something what´s not to be found???) Help please!

BTW I had the same problem with the Babylon Project. Solution: I deativated "no collisions" in the launcher. But this function isn´t awailable in the FS 2 launcher... :confused:

First of all update to Launcher 5.4 and retry. Previous versions had bugs reading MOD.ini files so you needed a special typing (which still works with 5.4). If you use the right typing with this buggy versions, some of your secondary MOD folders won't be correctly used.

Also use 3.6.7.RC7
IF YOU HAVE TROUBLES WITH FS2:
  • Please, please, please, READ and UNDERSTAND the sticky threads in FreeSpace & FreeSpace Open Support board.
    A lot of people are willing to help you, but, as anyone can understand, seeing the very same "issues" repeated again and again can become quite depressing. Please, spend a bit of time trying to solve the issue by yourself.
    (Lobo deserves a monument).
  • Then, if you aren't still able to solve your issue, feel free to ask for help in that same board.
    FYI, most of the troubles are caused by wrong mod installations which lead to either missing data or undesired cross-effects between them. Always follow the mod installation instructions and keep a clean FS2 installation as explained in the sticky threads. Two additional links about how the game handles game data:
  • If you think that you've discovered a bug, mantis it.
    Provide as much info as you can, and try to narrow it down. A lonely "FS2 doesn't work" is not a good report.

On the download-site for the newest media vp´s (3.6.8 zeta) there is a link to a build dated 20060517.
Is this more stable than the 3.6.9 RC 7, which is three months newer ?
