need help im a fred noob

i cannot figure this out. no matter what I arm them with, i can't get them to use beam cannons!!!  :mad:
all they use is crappy lasers and missles, no matter what...
Gunteen6 is now S31-Syntax! If I could change the name, I would!

Have you tried doing the tutorial? Its a great introduction into FRED and does include how to make beams work.

Check /data/freddocs/ in your FreeSpace 2 folder.

Also... there's a Fredding forum for this. Which is where this thread is going. More specific help is available there. Also, join the Fred accademy when you feel up to it.

go to mission specs and turn on beam-free-all by default.

Just keep in mind that its only there in FRED_Open and not Retail.

Sniff...I remember that period...now FRED has lost all its initial fashion for me...enjoy those moments!!!
