New guy, need some help :)
Hello I'm new around here, I would like to know few things about some up to date Freespace version. I'm also Linux user(running Ubuntu Linux 6.10) so I would like some info where I can get some stable source code for compiling both Freespace versions and play this outstanding game, I tryed Icculus.org binaries but I think they are unstable and (second mission crash problems) outdated comparing to community versions. I don't know is it good place to post this or if I will find here some Linux fellow users but someone directed me here. I will be very grateful for any support.

Best regards

:welcome:

[jedi mind trick]You have heard the welcome speech[/jedi mind trick]

Your best bet for new builds is probably to try the release candidates in the Source Code Forum....

http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/board,97.0.html

Those are the latest release candidate builds. They aren't certified bug-free, but certainly the latest candidate runs really well on my setup :)

Freespace Wiki: Freespace Open on Linux

Knock yourself out.

Also take a read of karajorma's Freespace FAQ.
