Problem (?) in Sync - 'Darkness Spreading'
Alright, I'll start off with I saw. It was the mission 'Darkness Spreading,' I believe. All of a sudden, my guys start spouting off about how a superdestroyer or something like they've never seen has jumped in. I scan around, looking for it. The only ship that's there, that wasn't before ...is a Ulysees class fighter.

Me: ...right then.

So, I finish the mission. The mission briefing for the next stage, however, mentions a superdestroyer. Now, unless Sync is pulling a Transcend on me and screwing with my head, I know for a fact there was no SD class ship.

Is there something wrong with my download of Sync, or is this supposed to happen?

And just in case it'll make a different, here's what I'm running. It's FS2 Open, 3.6.9, with all the goodies except Advanced effects. I have Homesick, Derelict, ITHOV, Just Another Day, Transcend, and Sync all in my command line thing, along with the Media VPs and a main mods folder.

Thanks for any and all help. ^^

Try putting Sync in it's own mod folder with the mediavp folder listed as a secondary mod and seeing if you get the same issue.

Take everything but Sync and Media VPs out of your command line.

That is, in a word: bad. All mods (including the Media VPs) should go into their own separate folders within the FS2 folder. You then use the Launcher to select the one you want, and mod.ini files to load the medias along with it.

Re: Problem (?) in Sync - 'Darkness Spreading'
Alright, I took everything out of my command line except for Mediavps and Sync (I already have everything in separate folders). I checked the Tech room, and there's a new edition, called the Hedetet class. I don't recognize the design, and as if to cement the fact that this is a new ship, the tech entry says it came in after the Capella incident.

So, it should be fixed now, and I'm testing the mission at the moment. Gyah, that's such a simple fix, why didn't I think of it?

Thank you! ^^

EDIT: Just checked the mission, and yes, it does work. I s'pose this thread could be deleted/locked now. ^^ Thanks again for the help.

Re: Problem (?) in Sync - 'Darkness Spreading'
For future reference, the Ulysses is the default ship that FS2 inserts into a mission when it can't find a certain specified ship.  As you've noticed, the results can be rather absurd. :p Like others have said above, you should never attempt to run multiple mods at the same time; since just about any mod with a custom ship needs a custom table file, overlapping multiple different custom tables usually leads to some sort of craziness.  The SCP team developed the mod folder system for this very reason; it allows you to have multiple mods installed and easily switch between them without having to bother with copying/deleting a ton of mod files.
