I know my problem is that I'm using TS, especially TS1, but I was wondering, how EXACTLY do I texture my model (with bitmaps, .pcx's, and the like, instead of the solid colors TS provides) and add effects, such as lens flares, bullets, etc.
Please give me an answer, and I don't want to get another renderer.

Lens flares? Not in TS1.
Bullets? Use a geometric object with some transparency and maximum ambient glow. It might look like a laser shot.
Textures? You can only create a texture that is wrapped around your ship using a spherical UV space. That may be different if you have built your model in TS since it automatically applies UV space to a new shape.

Use the force. Well, assuming you,ve found the paint button. Right click it and then click browse and use the texture you want, you can paint faces etc. A bit of fidling about helps too. Only thing i cant find out is how to increase the res on renders.
