.... I might have survived.
Ok so about 10 minutes ago I was playing the first mission in the Vasudan part of the main campaign... the first sighting of the SJ Sathanas... oh and on my normal Insane difficulty (not that hard, mind you!)!
Well, I fly the mission, die, restart the mission, and get pretty banged up in dogfighting. I get 11% hull and the Sobek comes under attack... well I afterburner my way there and do some dogfighting. The Sobek survives the small-ship assult with 2% hull.
So, here comes the good part... the SJ Sathanas jumps in and, of cource, destroys the Sobek with guns-a-blazing. The poor little ship is toasted with 2% hull hull... so, the Sathanas stops for a second. Unfortunately I couldn't find Snipes... he missed his cue I guess... well, the Sathanas jumps out... what do I see? I was flying away from it, mind you... well I see my screen light up white/blue with a seemingly random subspace warp. Now i'm thinking... wtf? And I turn around (stupidly, mind you) to see whats happening. I don't see anything... still don't see anything... then I see motion... and a very large arm trying to pole-vault me (about 200m overheat) and then a few more arms coming at me at probably 1,800kmph. Well I was still like what the... thinking i was in a bit of danger, I start my afterburners, pushing down on the throttle. Well, my afterburners are pretty much dead (about a quarter of the bar left) and I am probably not going in the best direction (probably would have been smarter to head due toward the Sathana's warp). So, I get squashed like a bug...
I really do wish Snipes would have been there to shout "Dive! Dive! Dive! Hit your burners, pilot!"... I would have likely survived if I knew that!
