Question about mods and medals, don't know were to post
OK, so I see about 5 different forum areas where this would probably fall under, but this seems like the best, so it's going here.  Right now, I'm using the Awakenings mod to play through the main FS campaign, and then the awakenings campaign.  After this, I plan on doing the FS2 campaign.  Will there be a conflict in terms of medals if I do this?  It's been a while, but I seem to recall FS2 had different medals than FS1.  If I disable the mod, will I still have all the medals from FS1 port, if not, what happens to them, and what happens to the medals I get in FS2 if I do save the FS1 medals?  I really don't wanna create a whole new pilot, as I've never gotten past the 4th rank, and want to go as far as I can on the same pilot with as many DIFFERENT missions as possible, as well as getting all the medals on the way.  Will this be a problem?
Could we with ink the ocean fill, and were the skies of parchment made
Were every stalk on earth a quill, and every man a scribe by trade
To write the love of God above, would drain the ocean dry
Nor could the scroll contain the whole, though stretched from sky to sky!

The proper answer is that you should create a new pilot for every mod/campaign. However, I've been using the same pilot since I first got FS2 in 2000 and I haven't had any troubles. Really the only issues are that you'll have screwey kill counts from using different ships.tbl files in different mods and that once you use a pilot with FSO it gets converted to a different format that won't work with retail FS2 (but this shouldn't really be a problem since you have no reason to use retail anymore).

I don't know how FSport handles medals though. I say just go for it and see what happens. :nervous:
