I think better explanation is that Lucifer's destruction caused wider effects on subspace and collapsed all three jump nodes and even some other ones beyond Sol.
If in your opinion there's no difference beetwen "Master Game" and "Game Master", I can only feel for you.

That's generally the tact I take. Let's face it the Shivans attacked lines of subspace activity in both games.

There's an obvious connection between stellar masses and subspace (artificial jumps working in-system only, etc.) so it's not much of a stretch to see the Shivans 'tweaking' stars as they see fit to maintain the network. The reason for that however is a mystery.

Maybe the Shivans used some kind of secret device when the reactors have been destroyed and the warship was going down.

I somehow doubt that they'd care... sort of like when any of your wingmen die, Command rarely has anything to say other then to yell at you.

Beta 3: Help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Command: The xxx is taking damage, protect that ship!

Something about having 80 more ships just like it sort of ruins your idea... when it's worth it and you have the ships to make the differance, Command will send em all home to let themselves be destroyed. If it's not worth it and you don't quite have the ships to make the differance, Command will tell em to go for it and let them all die. Frankly, you're lucky you will survive half of the missions Command wants you in!

GTSVA: With who...?
Nuke: chewbacca?
Bob-san: The Rancor.

There are 3 jump nodes indeed, but only one of them is connected by a line with another, I assume that the other two are to unstable to travel.

Unstable nodes usually do not appear in stellar maps...

The official story is that the animations were done before the story was finalized.  Sol, by official canon, has only a single jump node according to Volition.  The maps are wrong as far as what they later considered the finalized node map.
