Ok well I have been searching the controls in freespace 2 but I cant find how you can focus the camera outside the ship.

I want to take scrrenshots without the HUD showing, its proberly rigth there infront of me but I cant find it

Shift-O turns off the HUD IIRC, and Alt-Pause will pause the game and still allow you to rotate the view.

IIRC the hud button is bindable in the 'misc' section of the controls. So is a plethora of other useful commands, too.

By default, external view is . on the numpad.
