One right here, I just hope that AC6 will also be released to the PS3 (I dont have anything against the 360 but I dont plan on buying one). I also just hope that this time it wont have a super weapon with a obvious weakness and that only will be able to destroy it. :blah:

Great, maybe they'll actually make VTOLs avaliable now, always wanted to fly a Harrier.

Ace Combat is silly, unintentionally hilarious, and quite possibly the most fun series of games in the world today.

Hey, you talk about AC without ME, Mobius?!?

There's a link to an AC fan site(the last link of my sig...the site is a bit stupid, but you can always obtain info without contacting psychopats). AC6 is being discussed to death and as far as I know, a PS3 version will be available too...but the 460 one is a top priority for the developers.

Why do you think that? I'm only asking because I'm curious. :)

Because Ace Combat has killed real combat flight simulators, that's what DySkO says. I agree with him, but I don't actually hate Ace Combat(just look at my nickname...).

Ace Combat Skies is silly. Visit it...visit it and tell me what do you think :eek2:

Re: Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation
The Ace Combat games are fun because they don't bother you with sub par control schemes (ever try playing Janes without a joystick?  Not fun at all), have terrain that doesn't look like it was pasted from a photo, and give you an engaging storyline to keep you occupied.  Sure , having infinite ammo and fuel is a bit unrealistic, but let's be honest, with the odds you're up against in the game running out fuel at a critical moment would just ruin the feel of the game.

A flight game doesn't have to be realistic to be fun, it just has to be good enough to make me feel like I'm flying the plane.

I'm definitely looking forward to Ace Combat 6, and I'm glad they made the smart move to put it on the 360.

Re: Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation
Ace Combat is really fun, but indeed, it's nothing like a sim - but then, it's not supposed to be, and it doesn't call itself one either. It didn't cause the death of sims no more than Freespace caused the death of space games.

And when I said so?

I don't like Ace Combat because I have always played with sims, and AC is too arcade for me. That's the reason because I also don't like FPS.

Re: Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation
Ok, ok, I was wrong about DySkO's reasons.

AC is a beautiful game and has always had an interesting storyline. It's far from the Real LifeTM[sup/], but who cares? :)

Wow, for a moment I thought the majority of AC fans were ACS scum. I'm glad to see serious fans here on HLP.

Pfft, who plays flight sims for storylines anyway? Make up your own damn war stories!

Re: Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation
In Ace Combat X and Air Combat the "stealth" effect was well represented but it was still far from something realistic.
