Problem

The problem I seem to be having is that when I play this the ship models don't appear at all. The only thing I can see is a target box around them.

Have you tried "enable jpg/tga" on the graphics tab in the launcher?

No I dont't think so. and I thought this thing didn't need to be dumped into the defsult FS2 folder.

Which "thing" are you talking about?? Are you using FS Open or retail?  :nervous:  :confused:

Never mind, Wing Commander Saga Prologue is in it's own folder and doesn't need to be in the default FS2 folder, however, it still uses the same kind of launcher and still has the same type of options within the the graphics tabs!

The necessary launcher settings will already be added by the installation process, so you normally don't need to change anything. First of all, make sure that you play the game in OpenGL mode and that you update your graphic driver for this purpose.

While there is some D3D-support for original freespace, it will bring many errors when playing SCP Games. Therefore, OpenGl is a must have to play without error. Pls try, and report back when you continue to have problems :)

It seems the problems are just the textures for the ships. I can see the weapons in the tech room just fine but nothing is there for the ships except for the Lexington class carrier but that just shows up with a few pieces. The background nebulas aren't there either and that is the extent of my problems.

okay, this sounds like somehow DDS maps are skiped in the rendering process.

Have you somehow changed the default configuration of the game? Have you activated any flags in the launcher or changed video mode?

The textures do show up in D3D mode without any features on. What is the default list features to have on anyway?

you could reinstall the game. That will enable default features.

You should enable specular and glow maps. Also copy this string into the Custom Flags field in the launcher:

-normal -fov 0.65 -spec_exp 7.0 -spec_tube 5.0 -spec_point 8.6 -spec_static 3.0 -ambient_factor 75
