Sorry to bother you gents but I need some help...

I do work for a college doing graphics design photoshop, indesign, and illustrator are my top programs but I'm ashamed to say I know little about illustrator, quite a bit about photoshop, and I make it with indesign.  I got this job, I love it, but I'm still learning it...

I have a question for anyone who knows what I'm talking about... (note: I'm using outdated software)

In indesign I place my photoshop graphic and it's pixelated because I used a 72 dpi on my photoshop document... So when I create a 200 or 300 dpi document and place it in indesign in shows up tiny and a huge loss of quality... What am I doing wrong?

Any help would be great!

illustrator is essentially the pen/path/shape tools of photoship but on steroids. you create your base vector image and use styles alot.

i never used indesign so i dont know what the problem is. you typically use high dpi for print only. using standard screen dpi works well enough for me sence i really only make textures. id assume that the dpi settings of your indesign file should be the same as the one from photoshop that you are trying to import.

I know about illustrator it's a vector based program not pixels...  In-Design confuses me since I see no document settings on dpi or anything.  From what I have seemed to learn it's a program for publication only.  You see I got this job and I'm straight out of high school... it's a internship at a college.  I'm still learning. Thanks for the help...  :)

anybody else?

It's been quite a while since I last used InDesign, wish I could remember.
