Hi.

Does anyone have a series of images (preferably more than 256 colours) that they want to turn into an ANI but couldn't because of the different colourmapping on each frame when they tried? I've got some code written up to automate converting TGAs into a PCX series for use by anibuilder (ie. same colourmap) that needs some testing. If it works, new tools for modders, yay!

Any chance you could get a hold of the ANIbuilder source code and tinker with that? Its current algorithm is so awful nobody uses it, ever. Integrating a new color-processor and support for multiple file formats would be wonderful!

For all my color-palettizing needs, though, I use Epic's BRIGHT. It is perfect.

How perfect? I can send you the source files for this and you can compare the results.

It should be all good for testing as long as the source files are more than 256 colours (comparison is good :)). I have no idea where to get my hands on anibuilder code, however. Any chance someone with a fileplanet account can download that little texture app for me and post a link?

PSP can do this as a batch operation, and does a really good job of it, but a program for people without PSP would probably be useful.
