Alright, problem solving time!
I'm building a media center PC for my dad's vacation rental and I'm looking for the right software. I need something that will simply allow people to access ONLY the movies and music on the PC. Ideally, this software will have some sort of lock to keep people from exiting to windows and futzing around. If not, it's not the end of the world. I've given a couple of different softwares a try, but they allow for options like deleting the movie/music files off the harddrive, etc. These would be bad with as many different people using it as there would be.
I just want something that lists movie files from a directory, lets you select one, and it plays in X or lists music files, you select some and they play in Y. I don't want it to have the ability to change, move, delete, transcode, record tv, surf the web.. it doesn't need any of that.
Can anyone think of software along these lines (we're even willing to purchase, so it doesn't have to be free)? Or some sort of alternative? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!
