Inacurate Tech Descriptions.
Did anyone ever notice that a couple of ships didn't match up to their Tech descriptions

For Example:

According to the Tech description, The Mjolnir is supposed to have 2 Anti-Cap Beam Turrets and 3 Anti-fighter Turret...But it doesn't

Also, The number of Turrets on the Colossus didn't match up to the numbers given in the Colossus Cutscene.


NOW I would like to know if someone has made Description Accurate versions of these Models. and if so where i can get them.

I think the descriptions should be adapted to the models, not the contrary...though I'd really like to see a Mjolnir like the one described in the Tech Room :)

There's an 86 gun Collusus over at Hades Combine. I'm not sure if it equals the number of guns in the cutscene, but I do know it restores the weapons unused in the tbl files.

Original gameplay wise, I would have to agree with Mobius on the description being modified to fit the model rather than model fitting the description. All those weapons were likely taken out for a reason. ;)

Well, Single beam Mjolnirs could be Mk1 prototypes and Tech accurate Mjolnirs are the final product. Id like a tech accurate Mjolnir please

Actually the Hades Combine 86 turret Colossus has 2 more turrets than the cutscene specifies:

45 Laser Turrets
15 Flak Guns
12 Missile Batteries
12 Beam Cannons
= 84 turrets.

I'll DL the HC Colossus. Maybe alter the TBL entry so the weapons 1-84 match up with the cutscene and wing it for the last 2

It could be the contrary. The presence of more turrets could affect negatively the performance of the beams thus resulting in the deployment of smaller sentry guns near a Mjolnir.

Or The Mjolnir turned out to be too effective so it left the player with little to do so they removed the AAAf's

The missions in which Mjolnir RBCs are simple under a FREDding point of view. There could have been more NTF fighters attacking the Mjolnirs...

Could be they did it for storyline purposes (the rebels don't have THAT many fighters with node jump capability) or for simple performance issues

I would just use a couple of small sentry turrets flanking the Mjolnir to defend it.  Actually, I used my newfound tabling skills to make the "AAASMALL" for just that purpose.
