Changing Model Textures?
Hey guys.

I am using the PCS2 to change the textures on some models. That's easy, of course.

On most models, a certain texture is comprised of several different parts of the model... for example, the first texture in the list is actually made up of 6 or 7 parts of the model, scattered everywhere.

My question is... is there any way to break this down into smaller parts? I'd like to change the textures on a small section of the model, instead of the 6 or 7 parts that are all changed simultaneously.

Any help would be appreciated  :)
Thanks,

CaptainX

Not without importing the model into a model package, editing it and reconverting back into the FreeSpace format. Not a huge job if you know what you're doing but not a whole lot of fun.  :doubt:

That's the way the creator made the model. As stated above you'd have to convert the POF to a .cob and then maybe some other format depending on what 3d programs you usually tinker with.

I don't do any mapping but occasionally I might paint faces in TS3.2 (like make a simple cockpit area and use a black texture for it.)

If you cant do that I would suggest finding a texture you're happy with that will of course cover all those areas the maker assigned to that texture slot.
