uv mapping in blender
I keep getting the same problem with my uv maps. some big polygons are small on he uv map and some are big.

IE. I map the top of something. then I map the bottom, but the scaling is all wrong. (things that should be the same size aren't.)

If you're using 'Project from view' then it takes the scaling you have in the view into account. Ie, if you zoom way out of the model and project from view, the section you're mapping will appear very tiny on the UV map.

If you use 'Project from view (Bounds)' then it will ignore the scaling and automatically size the section up to full size on the UV map - full size being the maximum size the shape can be without extending out past the borders.
