Firefox history acting weird
I typed 4 into my Firefox URL bar, and this comes up.

Now I only went on 4chan once ages ago, to see what all the fuss was about, and I've use CCleaner like a million times between now and then, and my history's cleared at least twice. I never even encountered this page. It seems to be the 404 page for 4chan.

Re: Firefox history acting weird
I may have figured this out wrong, but doesn't the "address bar" in Firefox 3 function as a search engine for your bookmarks? At least mine seems to. Which would imply that you have a 4chan bookmark somewhere.

Do an antivirus sweep and don't worry about it unless it comes back positive.

Well here's a simpler idea: got a sister / brother / mother / father etc.?

I doubt it. My parents don't use FF, and my sis is 10.

Re: Firefox history acting weird
My FF doesn't look like that...

anyway, I never even use the address bar :P

I use all my bookmarks on the toolbar under it, and everything else I want I get from my various wikia and youtube search engines.

The only websites I check every day are HLP, Facebook, Hotmail, and xfire.
Fun while it lasted.

Then bitter.

Re: Firefox history acting weird
Somebody probably linked to an image on 4chan that you looked at and didn't realize it was on 4chan. Then it got taken down.

But it's always there, even when I delete my history or use CCleaner.

Re: Firefox history acting weird
Thats because its not going to delete bookmarks and you've very clearly marked that site as a bookmark by clicking the yellow star.  Maybe through error.

Click the yellow star again and click 'Delete Bookmark' to remove it from your list.

The address bar is now part address bar and part bookmark search.  Its a brilliant idea...any website you visit and like you just click the yellow star and its bookmarked.  If you click the star again it brings up details and you can tag it if you like but otherwise whatever its associated with (numbers in this case) it will store and will be a part of your search.  The bookmark system is now using a mini SQL database.  Its brilliant...so long as you don't bookmark stuff you don't like :)
