Been modding my Media VPs to pull this off so far since the effect seems to be triggered by the presence of shockwave.pof. I'd like a way to just turn it off from the command line...

There is currently no flag to do that.  However, I think this would be a good idea and it would be pretty simple to implement.  Unfortunately, there is a code freeze going on right now, so it probably won't happen for a while

This should never happen.

It's a ****ing support nightmare on the same order as the -jpgtga flag. You'll get mods picking one or the other and then failing cause some yahoo came along and toggled the switch.

Er, it's already toggled by the media that the mod includes, as well as the ships table data. Why does it need to be toggled by a table as well?

Well I just meant there does need to be a way to control it, and since it sounds like there is, it shouldn't need anything done.

Surely if I change the tables the multiplayer will be broken because of table differences?
