Ya-HA! I bet you never thought you'd see me post in here, did you? :pimp:

Anyway, I'm kinda sorta planning to start making some type of campaign - including mods (by OTHER people, SHEESH!) and some SCP bells and whistlies. So, I spent most of yesterday downloading all sorts of crazy things off freespacemods.com, and after monkeying around a bit, the new arrivals are showing up in FRED... but usually crash the editor once I try to actually add some of the ships to the mission. Does anyone know what's the issue here? HTL-ships in a non-HTL-environment? Reversed conditions (non-HTL-ships in a HTL-environment)? The fact that I'm using my mother's laptop which is toting an Intel 915G graphics card? (Lots of things have happened to me. For now, just accept that I'm going to LHI (www.lhi.is) in Reykjavík.) Interesting issue: If I run FRED2SCP WITHOUT -fredhtl, it works better than it does with it. Funky 915G...
Now, all these ships and things I downloaded are just for testing - with all those .tbms, FS2 would have the mother of all ship-manifests to tangle with... If you want a list of them, just ask and you shall receive. Although it'll take me quite a bit of time. :)

Are all .pofs present? Are all table entries correct?

The .pofs should be there. I have no idea about the table-entries - I doubt many of these were made for 3.6.9/10. But if the entry is just not there, will the program just assume a default value?

[Edit] Hm... One mod that really isn't very cooperative is GTVBS Archangel.

:nervous: What? I said I was just poking around for mods that might be useful. Nothing's locked down yet...

[Further pokery +2] Yep. Everything that I've managed to put in its proper place so far works, except that Archangel.

Um... My, uh, ship-list in FRED2 seems to cap at 132 or there-abouts. Can anyone shed some light on this? (Stock ships.tbl + way more .tbms than you'd ever think could be found on the same continent.)

There's a limit on a number of ship ATM.

Inferno builds have that limit raised to 400 ships (I think). I hear it's coming to 3.7 too.

Anywa,y which archangel are you using? The normal or the Mk2 version? Also, check if ship.tbl references the POF properly (and that you have the needed weaponz).

Missing weapons theoretically shouldn't crash. (I know this because I have had missing weapons plenty of times before. The turretsj ust show up as "UNUSED".) The most likely candidate is a misreferenced POF.
Current limit on ships in normal builds is, IIRC, 140.

Only 140 ships, eh? :) Well, that explains that. Off I go to yank stuff out of .tbms and copy-paste it into ships.tbl... Good thing I meant to replace a good number of the stock FS2-ships anyway.

As for the Archangel, it's the Mk2-version.

[Edit] How about that... Now I found out that something isn't quite right with the Reyena, Tennyson, (missing mesh-data??) Selkie, and the Titan. (Well, there is the issue of coding in the weapons myself, so I doubt I'll regret losing that ship.)
