Re: Bin Laden before the election: What are the odds?
The burden of proof is on you Hellstryker... there's massive evidence that a plane DID in fact hit the pentagon, but you're claiming otherwise.

Unless you can come up with an alternate explanation with more evidence, you're SOL

Re: Bin Laden before the election: What are the odds?
The pentagon thing was really wierd though. a plane almost certainly didn't hit it.
Why not? Were you expecting to see large chunks of intact plane sticking out of the building? Expecting a plane shaped hole? What?

Conspiracy theorists - particularly those concerned with 9/11 and the moon landings, are among the most intriguing people on the planet. Their abilities to sift through such massive quantities of fairly clear-cut evidence - and ignore all of it - and pick out teeny tiny issues that they then tout as being clear proof of their particular ideas are incredible. The same goes for their ability to so thoroughly ignore any and all subsequently presented evidence that crushes their proof into dust.

I particularly love the places where they delve into realms concerning engineering, using kindergarten level understanding of the principals (ie, usually little more than 'hey that's not how I think it should have looked!'). It's just so much fun to squash the ideas completely and utterly, knowing full well that those who proposed them will not ever back down from them. Sorta like fighting the Black Knight in a screwed up kinda way. :D

Yes well after looking into it further you're right, a plane -did- hit the pentagon, though it's certainly odd they didn't release more videos on it. As for the moon landings FFS, we went to the moon, seems as how there's no reason we would fake a failed mission.

Yes, because there's totally always a large group of people with video cameras standing outside one of the walls of the Pentagon.

Edit 2: Forget it, i'm not going to comment on that. The last time I did something of that sort it got me monkeyed.

American 77 hit the Pentagon.

Did you expect a cartoon-like outline of the jet to be implanted in the building when it hit? A ****ing alumninum airplane impacted a building built of reinforced concrete and steel at several hundred miles an hour. The plane essentially tore apart and liquidated as it entered the building. It was lucky some of it was left at all in the aftermath.

As for Loose Change, Dylan Avery can kiss my ass. His "attempt" to persuade the general public with such bull**** information and shady sources makes him just as evil as the Bush administration for getting us into Iraq. Ignoring basic scientific fact just to reinforce some bull**** conspiracy "theory" that would only make up the plot of a bad summer B-movie and doesn't involve in politics. Of course the WTC's steel didn't melt--it doesn't requiring melting of steel for 30+ floors of a building to collapse on the rest. No, there wasn't a standdown order for the military.

Assholes like Dylan Avery and the rest of his 9/11 conspiracy friends need to either find a real job or a long piece of rope to hang themselves with. Honestly, Hellstryker, if you're so naïve to believe what these folks are telling you than I suggest you do some time in the library (read: NOT the internet) figuring out how physics, engineering, and basic sciences work before believing the conspiracy theorists.

If Dylan Avery wants to believe what he does than allow him, and I say the same for creationists and the extreme religious right in this country. Still, the moment either of these groups attempt to convince anybody outside of their own little inbred communities they deserve every ounce of ridicule and assraping they deserve.

In short: 9/11 conspiracy theorists are as bad for American society as the Bush administration, creationists, and others liars responsible for ruining my country.

You don't have to, Dylan A is a donkey-hole, and most of us here find it obvious.

BTW- what about JFK, there's a conspiracy theory there, and before digging into it I have to say it is much more believable than what "Loose Change" talks about. I might change my mind after 3 hours of reading stuff though.

Re: Bin Laden before the election: What are the odds?
The JFK conspiracy has at least some ounce of credit in that it's not based off of half-assed "evidence" and "proof."

For future reference, I'm not just referring to Loose Change when I mention 9/11 conspiracy theories--I mean all of them.

Yes well if you look around you don't actually find many ****ing pictures of any large debris, as *gasp* you do on loose change. I can't say I like the guy but at least it makea a bit more sense now. Also, read before you go *****ing next time because I corrected myself saying a plane did indeed hit the pentagon. I don't even know why we HAVE these arguments. if 9/11 is a conspiracy it's part of something deeper (I believe most of you here have watched zeitgeist, and agree/disagree with it on some level or so) or bush really is dumb enough to send troops into iraq over it. I'll let you decide.

For me, at least, what is so interesting about the recent rise in the public's willingness to accept conspiracy theories is not what it says about the theories, but what it says about the level of trust in the government. I don't believe most conspiracy theories, but I think there's a lesson to be learnt by some governments from the increase in the number and volume of people who do.
