in all honesty I was mostly joking about the 'armed military force' it was in reference to the heavy security in most of there establishments. what they do have is more like a good intelligence/counterintelligence service. if they were sieged I have no doubt they would be able to put up a decent fight, but pound for pound what they have in terms of a real physical threat comes from there 'office of special affairs'. the majority of the sea org is actually more like a indentured work force than a military. but they do have a thing for 45 caliber pistols. they probably have stockpiles of weapons at a few of there bases and vaults, but (aside from the afore mentioned pistols) it isn't something the routinely deploy. what would be more worrisome would be assassination type tactics, it wouldn't be too hard for them to discretely kill someone who was causing them problems, but they usually try to get them sued into oblivion or imprisoned (falsely if necessary).

like I said indentured workforce, while you are in you get all of your 'training' free, but you are paid like $24 a week, if you quit you are given a bill for all the services you used which is easily hundreds of thousands of dollars. it is also where HEAVY indoctrination is administered, they control every aspect of your life, there are things like forced abortions to make sure you do not have any distractions from your 'important' work.

Pity, so much for being a pretender to the throne. Hopefully in the future they will start arming heavily so anti-scientology debates and protests can be more fun (and interesting).
